Sacred 2: Fallen Angel -- Initial Impression.

With Phantasy Star Universe finally winding down, we're looking for an online game to replace it for the summer. We've decided on Sacred 2: Fallen Angel. We're going to be playing the Xbox 360 version, which is a port of the original 2008 PC title. Sacred 2: Fallen Angel was created by the German development studio of Ascaron and published by CDV Software Entertainment. The game is Diablo mixed with a massive overworld and some World of Warcraft cool down. We've been messing around with our alternative characters. The ones we intend to take through the evil campaign. We're going to be playing through the light campaign and messing around in co-op with our primary characters starting in late June. My initial impression of the game is that it is absolutely massive. We've all heard those comments along the lines of it would take five hours plus to walk from one corner of the map to opposite corner. This is the first game where I actually believe it. I've spent twenty hours and have explored six percent of the map. And what I've explored is far from being finished. It's full of quests yet to be done. The other thing readily apparent from my time with Sacred 2 is that it certainly has a quirky sense of humor. In the best way possible. It's downright silly at times. It's an interesting and fresh approach. They don't seem to be spouting reams of bad fantasy fiction as world lore. Instead they seem to want to actively keep you entertained with humor. Hopefully Sacred 2 proves to be ideal in whiling away the summer. The initial impression is good.
